Course Overview: The Swedish massage course offers its students the opportunity to become certified therapist and work professionally in this field. During the next 2 months (60 hours, 15 meetings) the students will learn introduction to Human Anatomy, Swedish massage, guest consulting and ethics. Awarding Body: MQA Approved as a non awarded course Course Duration: 2 Months (2 days per week, 4 hrs per day)
Learning Objectives: - Human anatomy is essential to therapist and body workers as it helps them understand the pattern of discomfort, muscle straining and how to promote total well being. 18 hours
- The Swedish massage practical part will teach the therapist how to touch, manipulate and help their guest restore a larger range of movement, hence promoting total well being, 35 hours
- Guest consulting covers the art of asking questions in order to optimize your service and the healing process. 3 hours
- Ethics is the knowledge of what and what not to do at the spa, I the treatment room in order to insure a flawless working environment, 4 hours
- How to give a complete, effective, relaxing massage to a clinical standard
- This course focuses on the needs of people who want to massage friends and or to practise massage within an existing clinical framework e.g. nurses, counsellors, beauty therapists, sports people. It is also the first step towards becoming a professional Massage Therapist
Course Requirements and Student Evaluation: Strong motivation and no academic qualifications.
